Meet Megan
Megan Hodges is passionate about supporting adults as they navigate life impacted by loss, unexpected life changes, and relational trauma. She appreciates the bravery it takes to reach out for help and is committed to honoring you and your unique journey towards wholeness. She believes that the foundation for healing starts with a strong therapeutic relationship and works with clients to strengthen the relationships you have with yourself, with your friends and family, and with your community.
Megan practices from a trauma-informed perspective, recognizing how past experiences often impact your core sense of self, leading to difficulties with knowing who you are, self-worth, and authentic connection. Megan collaborates with clients to gently explore what might be getting in the way of what you want for yourself, helping you move beyond feelings of shame and reconnect with your inherent capacity for healing.
Megan began her professional life as a high school math teacher. Over her ten-year teaching career, she taught middle and high school math, as well as spent six years teaching English in China and Mongolia. It was during the COVID pandemic that Megan began pursuing counseling as a career.
During her degree program, Megan interned at Dallas LIFE, a non-profit shelter and program for those experiencing homelessness in the DFW area, where she was a counseling intern providing individual and group therapy to residents. She worked with many clients experiencing grief and loss, anxiety, and the physical, emotional, and relational impact of complex developmental trauma.
Megan graduated from Cedarville University with a Bachelors in Mathematics, Christopher Newport University with a Masters in Teaching, and Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Counseling.
Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC Associate) in Texas (#100640) and is currently under the supervision of Jonathan Todd, MA, LPC-S (License #76679).
