Meet Tara

Tara (she/her) is here to work with you to ensure that therapy becomes a healing force in your life. Tara’s style is one of warmth and gentleness, so if you are new to therapy and looking for a safe place to land, look no further.

Tara is trained in EMDR, SSP (Safe & Sound Protocol), and Mindfulness and believes in a mind-body approach to healing. Tara feels that therapy is at its best with a warm cup of coffee or tea. You might be a good fit to work with Tara if you are trying to work through painful parts of your past that show up in your relationship with a partner or with your children, or if you are wanting to heal from past trauma before having children. Tara can also support you if you’ve tried talk therapy in the past but want to work on improving nervous system regulation and/or your response to triggers from stress and trauma.

For the past 16 years, Tara has served under-resourced populations that have experienced trauma. Tara graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a Bachelor’s in Sociology. In her early experience, Tara supported folks through case management with reentry from prison, refugee resettlement, and families experiencing poverty, domestic violence, inadequate housing, food insecurity, and immigration issues. Tara has been a Licensed Master Social Worker for 8 years. She spent 6 years working at Momentous Institute in Dallas supporting teachers, administrators, and school systems to become informed about trauma and create schools that support safety and wellness. In 2023, Tara shifted her focus to providing therapy and joined the team at The Haven Wellness Center where her specialization is supporting healing for clients that have experienced trauma.

Tara would love to learn more about you, and how she can support your healing. Reach out today: tara@thehavenwellnesscenter.com.
