Meet Jessica

Jessica Brazeal (she/her) has always loved to be the person to listen when others are hurting. Her passions as a therapist include providing support and relief for those who have been impacted by a history or single instance of trauma, providing insight and support for women experiencing abuse or control in their relationship with an intimate partner, and generally seeking to empower individuals to move toward healing, growth and into a space of self-possession and confidence.

Starting her work as a therapist at Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support and ultimately becoming the Director of Clinical & Professional Services there, Jessica spent 8 years working with women who were experiencing power and control from their partner, helping them to identify their strengths, process their trauma and determining the best path forward for them. Additionally, Jessica led a team of 20 therapists who collectively provided thousands of hours of therapy for the women and children of Dallas. Jessica also helped develop and served as the Coordinator of Clinical Services, a ministry aimed at supporting survivors of domestic violence at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Most recently, Jessica spent 6.5 years serving at New Friends New Life providing support to survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. As Chief Programs Officer, Jessica led a team of 15 that provided comprehensive services to adult and teen women and girls who have survived trafficking. Collectively, Jessica has spent the last 15 years supporting survivors of various forms of abuse and trauma.

Jessica has been trained in several modalities of treatment, most related to the treatment of traumatic experiences.  Jessica is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Certified as well as an EMDR Approved Consultant and Trainer.  Jessica is also trained in the following treatment modalities: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (TF-CBT), Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
