Meet Jordan

Jordan Gates (she/her) is passionate about supporting individuals and children who have been impacted by trauma, intimate partner violence, and grief and loss. Building a trusting, warm therapeutic relationship is most important to Jordan as she works closely with her clients empowering them to uncover their strengths and reach their goals in a supportive and safe environment.

Jordan began her career at Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support as a therapist and was the Assistant Clinical Director her last year there. Jordan spent approximately 6 years providing trauma-informed individual and group therapy to both women and children (ages 2-18) who witnessed or experienced power and control in their relationship. Jordan supported her clients as they processed past or current abuse and trauma, challenged negative thinking patterns, identified their strengths and resources, and increased their coping skills and support systems. In addition, she worked with children and their mothers as a team encouraging them to explore and express their feelings in a safe environment and identify healthy coping skills to utilize when dealing with their worries and/or traumatic experiences.

Jordan is trained in several evidenced-based treatment modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She has also received trainings in Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), attachment therapy, and play therapy.

Jordan would be honored to walk alongside your healing journey as you take this brave step!

Jordan graduated from University of Texas with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and New York University with a Master’s in Social Work.
