Should I Go To Therapy?

Have you ever found yourself asking this question? There are a lot of misconceptions about therapy and who would benefit from it. The truth is that there are so many reasons to go to therapy and it is a practice that most anyone would benefit from. And, if you’re asking that question, my guess is that therapy would be something that would help.

Consider these scenarios:

-Have you recently had a major life change or transition that has been difficult to adjust to? Then therapy.

-Have you experienced trauma in your childhood that continues to create current pain and triggers today? Then therapy.

-Have you considered creating a change in your life but don’t know how or would like some support? Then therapy.

-Has a relationship felt challenging to navigate or leaving you with your needs unmet and you’re unsure what to do? Then therapy.

-Has your child been struggling at school socially or emotionally and you are needing some support? Then therapy.

-Have you experienced a recent betrayal that has left you feeling like you are on shaky ground? Then therapy.

-Do you find yourself worrying all the time and it is beginning to affect your sleep/self-care/daily functioning? Then therapy.

-Is your teen addicted to their phone and you’ve noticed a change in their relationships, mood, or general norm? Then therapy.

-Are you finding that you are using substances like alcohol to cope more often than you’d like? Then therapy.

-Do you find that you are struggling to cope with everyday occurrences that have not typically bothered you? Then therapy.

-Do your emotions feel overwhelming to you and you want to feel more skilled in identifying them and communicating about them? Then therapy.

-Are you and your partner struggling to communicate with one another and need someone to assist in this area? Then therapy.

-Do you find yourself feeling hopeless or concerned about current events and after watching the news? Then therapy.

-Do you want to have a place to verbally process your life and receive only support without worrying about having to reciprocate? Then therapy.

This list is not exhaustive. There are so many other reasons people come in for therapy, but we wanted to simply give a snapshot of reasons people come in to The Haven for support. We would be honored to support you too.

Until we see you,

Jessica & The Haven
